Above - Paul Gebhardt leaves the starting line of the 2010 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to the delight of thousands of fans in downtown Anchorage.
Paul has officially signed up to race the 2011 Iditarod. Stay tuned and plan to check back throughout the season, to get updates on the behind the scenes action as Evy details the preparation for not only Paul's run down the 1,100 miles of trail, but also two more teams from the Gebhardt's Morning View Kennel.
Kristy Berington, who made her debut in the 2010 Iditarod as a rookie musher, will be coaching a team of young pups along the trail to Nome in 2011.
And making his rookie debut in 2011, will be longtime Morning View Kennel sponsor and friend, Mr. Scott Janssen - owner of Janssen Funeral Chapels in Alaska "THE MUSHING MORTICIAN"!
As of June 26, 2010, the first day for mushers to sign up to participate in the 2011 Iditarod, here is the list of competitors:
