Aspen Hollow Lodging is a 3 hour drive from Anchorage on one of America's Designated Scenic Byways. The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (airport code ANC) is a first class facility with the full suite of rental car agencies available.
If you prefer to shorten your drive time and get to the Kenai Peninsula a little faster, book your travel all the way through to Kenai (airport code ENA). Currently two commuter carriers offer regular hourly, or bi-hourly flights between Anchorage and Kenai: ERA Airlines which is a code share mileage partner, and Grant Aviation. This is a scenic 20 minute flight.

The 30 mile drive from Kenai takes you along the edge of Cook Inlet, overlooking such sights as the Mt. Redoubt volcano, and the snowcapped peaks of Mt. Spur, St. Augustine and others across the distant shoreline of the inlet. Moose, caribou, coyote and bears have all been spotted along the roadway on this drive.
We are 20 miles from Soldotna, where the world famous Kenai River passes directly through the city.
Many of the guests at Aspen Hollow Lodging enjoy taking a day trip down to Homer, which is 50 miles south of us.
Or make a day of a trip to the Eastern Side of the Kenai Peninsula and visit Seward, which is 130 miles of scenic driving through the mountains in the upper Kenai River and Trail Lakes region.
Dall Sheep can be spotted directly from the Seward and Sterling Highway in several locations on your drive from Anchorage to Aspen Hollow Lodging in Kasilof.
